My latest novel, The Green Man, is a historical mystery set in 1367. It follows Brother Jacobus, a learned Benedictine monk who has made a habit of intervening in Inquisitorial trials, using logic and reason to assist those accused of heresy and sorcery.
When he hears of a series of children disappearing from the town of Berwick-Upon-Tweed in northern England, his curiosity is piqued. When he arrives there, he finds a place in constant flux, beset by a querulent nobleman Scottish raiders, eccentric friars, and talk of a demon in the woods.
Jacobus sets about investigating the childrens’ disappearance, but finds himself quickly out of his depth. And when neither his science nor his faith will provide him with satisfactory answers, he is faced with a choice that will either destroy everything he thinks he knows, or take from him everything he loves.

The Green Man is out on April 24th 2025, available everywhere.
